MINERVA 08.tif
The human history of Minerva is brief and turbulent—born of either politicking or poor fortune. The 132-tonne Coomondeery falls into the latter category. A 110-foot steamship, later converted to diesel auxiliary in Australia, it was wrecked on North Minerva in 1969. Over time it became part of the reef itself, corals, algae and crustaceans clinging to every surface.
