THE BIG BLUE BANQUET - At sea, the feasts are grand and impromptu and everyone’s invited.
Being a pilchard in a work-up must be a terrifying experience—chased from above and below, besieged by beaks and teeth alike, enveloped in echolocation clicks and surrounded by the splashing of wings—as dolphins, gannets and kingfish attack the school from all directions, forming it into a bait ball.
