SOUTHERN RIGHT WHALE 09.TIF
Female tohorā mate with numerous males. There is no aggression between males during these congregations, which suggests competition instead occurs in the uterus—the male who produces the most, and best, sperm wins. Perhaps for this reason, male tohorā pack some serious equipment. Their testes weigh 1000 kilograms, and they have one of the longest penises of any animal: up to four metres.
