Race officer Kim Ardmore from Yachting New Zealand counts down to the start of a race. Competitors are awarded points depending on where they finish: first place receives one point, and 39th place receives 39. After discarding the two worst results, the sailor with the fewest points wins the regatta—or if points are equal, the sailor who got the most wins is the victor.
