Secret Lake- Quentin Bennett is one of New Zealand's diving pioneers. Back in the 70's he used to pack his gear across Hawke's Bay backcountry in wheel barrows, looking for freshwater dive locations. Eventually he found this lake, with water as clear as gin-you can see from one side clear across to the other. Its location remains a guarded secret because the algae growth is very sensitive to disturbance. This frame sort of immortalises Quentin in his world.Sunday 13 February 2011.Photograph Richard Robinson © 2011.Dive Number: 301.Site: Secret Lake..Dive Buddy: Quentin Bennett..Temperature: 18 Degrees Celsius..Maximum Depth: 18.5 meters..Bottom Time: 60 minutes..Bottom Time to Date: 18,108 minutes..Cumulative Time: 18,168 minutes.
